Dupont and other giants announced to hault production and increase price

Due to the declaration of force Majeure by INEOS, a major supplier of refined terephthalic acid (PTA), one of the key raw materials for the manufacture of Crastin PBT polymers, on 2 March 2021, the future delivery date cannot be determined to date.

PTA producers in North America also declared force majeure on April 19, 2021.

On April 21, DuPont again issued a "Supplementary notice of Force Majeure for Crastin PBT products." Dupont said severe shortages now look set to last until June 2021.
